Setup Guide

How to Install

Setting up Challenge Mode is easy. Just grab the core framework, pick your modules, and make sure script mods are enabled.

Installation Steps

1

Download Challenge Mode Core

The Core is required for all challenge modules to run.

2

Extract to Mods folder

Place the `.ts4script` and `.package` files inside:
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods

3

Download Challenge Modules

Pick any challenge pack you want to play, like the Apocalypse Challenge.

4

Place modules alongside the core

Extract the module files into your Mods folder. Do not place script files more than one folder deep.

5

Enable Script Mods

In the game, go to: Game Options → Other → Enable Script Mods. Apply changes.

6

Launch Game

Restart The Sims 4. The Challenge Mode system will now load on your next save.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

  • Zip not extracted: You must extract the .zip files. The game cannot read .ts4script from inside a zip.
  • Too many nested folders: Script mods (.ts4script) will not load if placed deeper than one subfolder within your Mods directory.
  • Script mods disabled: Ensure both Custom Content AND Script Mods are enabled in game options.
  • Version mismatch: Using an old core framework version with a new module. Always check minimum requirements.

Requirements

  • ✔️ The Sims 4 Base Game
  • ✔️ Game Version 1.100+ or newer
  • ✔️ Script Mods Enabled
  • ✔️ Challenge Mode Core installed (for modules)
